| In 1983, Miller residents recognized the need to join together to provide a safe neighborhood for everyone living in Miller. As a result the Miller Neighborhood Association was formed, consisting of six officers, and with the Mission Statement, “Dedicated to improving the quality of life in Oklahoma City” . Original Miller Neighborhood Association Officers President: Mark Usry Vice President: J.L. Hawkins Treasurer: Marie Renfroe Secretary: Elna Rodman Newsletter Editors: Scott Christenson and Cathryn Ratliff The dedication of the original officers and residents allow us to enjoy a united neighborhood in which to raise our families under the current Mission Statement, “To make out Neighborhood a safe and a pleasant place to live.” The goals of the Miller Neighborhood Association are to assist the Oklahoma City Police and Fire Departments, educate our residents on crime activity and security, keep residents informed through our monthly newsletter the "Miller Messenger", to beautify our neighborhood and surrounding areas and to make Miller Neighborhood a safe and enjoyable place to live. Membership is open to all residents (regardless of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, military service, sexual orientation or disability) and all businesses in the area. This includes homeowners as well as renters. A small yearly membership due is required for membership. Volunteers, the heart and soul of our neighborhood, make the organization what it is today. All officers are elected volunteers, all board members are volunteers appointed by the president, and all committee chairpersons are volunteers. Each of these individuals donate freely of their time, energy and dedication to make the Miller Neighborhood a more enjoyable and pleasant place to live. A list of our officers, board members and committees can be seen on the Contact page of this website. We are always looking for new volunteers, so if you are interested in volunteering for a committee, please contact the chairperson listed on the Contact page. |
